Vocarra is run by Luke Freyman, a sole operator in Florida, United States. This page covers the Vocarra website and the internal software used to produce short video clips, including the Google-connected tool named lukeclippedthat.
The website collects nothing
vocarra.co is a static page. There are no cookies, no analytics, no tracking pixels and no forms. It loads nothing from any other domain. Nothing about your visit is recorded by us.
The clip tool, and whose data it touches
The clip tool is private software used by one person to prepare video clips for clients. It is not offered to the public and there are no user accounts. The only Google account it ever signs in to is the operator's own.
When it is signed in, Google grants it three permissions:
- Create and read Gmail drafts. Used to write outreach drafts and to read replies and bounce notices, so that someone who asks not to be contacted is never contacted again.
- Upload files to Google Drive. Limited to files the tool itself creates. It cannot see or open anything else in the Drive account.
All of that data belongs to the operator's own account. The tool runs on one laptop. Transcripts, clips and email drafts stay on that machine and in that Google account.
Google user data: limited use
The use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Specifically: data obtained through Google APIs is used only to provide and improve the clip service described above. It is never sold, never transferred to anyone except as needed to provide that service or where required by law, never used for advertising, and never read by a human except the operator.
Client material
A client's episode or stream recording is downloaded only to cut the clips they asked for. Source files are deleted once the work is delivered. Finished clips are kept so they can be sent again if a file is lost. Nothing is used as a public sample without written permission.
Email we send
Outreach email is written and sent by a person, one message at a time, and carries a postal address and a one-line way to opt out. Reply "no thanks" and the address is suppressed permanently and cannot be queued again.
Keeping it, and getting rid of it
There is no customer database beyond a contact list of shows and the record of what was sent to whom. To have your details removed, email the address below and it is done the same day.
